Restore Volume in Sunken Hollow Cheeks using Dermal Fillers - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

When we age it's common to notice hollows beginning to appear in the cheeks and tear troughs and dark circles under the eyes, which can make the face look older and gaunt. As we get older our skin starts to lose its elasticity and begins showing signs of ageing, leading to the loss of shape and definition of the face.

To lots of people, fuller cheeks and prominent cheekbones are attributes which make us look younger and more attractive. Lots of us would just prefer to have fuller cheeks or we want to replace the lost volume that causes sunken cheeks, and both can easily be treated using dermal fillers.

Dermal filler treatment can help to camouflage bags underneath the eyes and add volume to hollow, sagging cheeks. At Selston Cosmetic Clinic we can smooth wrinkles and facial folds and bring sunken skin back up to the surface by adding volume. Dermal fillers are an effective way to restore youthful fullness to the face, and the main areas are the eye hollows, the nasolabial lines from the nose to the mouth, the chin, enhancing the lips and the cheeks.

If you've never been blessed with prominent cheekbones or you've lost some fullness because of ageing, then dermal filler is an ideal solution. It's a minimally invasive treatment and it will leave you with natural looking, tighter skin.

Dermal filler treatment can;
  • Add volume to the cheeks
  • Fill the hollows of tear troughs
  • Enhance the jaw line
  • Define the chin
  • Plump the lips
  • Reduce the nasolabial folds
The skeletal changes we see over time, can accentuate the sagging areas of the face, like the tear troughs, the jowls, and the nasolabial folds. We can inject filler to correct any hollowing which happens through ageing and it will restore the skin’s natural elasticity, and leave the skin feeling firmer and highlighting the restored facial features.

Small amounts of dermal filler get injected into the cheek areas where there the volume has been lost and the injections work straight away, adding volume and subtly lifting the cheek area, temporarily reversing the loss of collagen. This treatment will plump up the apples of the cheeks and sculpt the cheek bones.

The dermal filler treatment gets done in a single appointment, it takes about 40 minutes and there's no downtime. The injections cause only minimal discomfort and there's anaesthetic in the filler itself, making it a fairly painless procedure. The results are instant and last for up to a year.

Rejuventate Your Face With Botox Injections - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

Facial wrinkles and frown lines can make you look and feel older than you are, and the deepening lines between your eyebrows and at the corners of your eyes can make you seem angry or sad. If you would like to look refreshed and have more self-confidence, then botox injections can make your face look and feel more refreshed and rejuvenated.
Lines that settle on the face are often called expression lines, and they develop over time as we age. We express ourselves by laughing, smiling, squinting, frowning and even talking, causing the fine lines around eyes and forehead to deepen. Smoking, stress and sun exposure will also make the wrinkles etch deeper into the skin. Botox is a safe, fast and simple solution for reducing fine lines and wrinkles.
Botox injections are one of the most popular performed non-surgical cosmetic procedures. The results of botox treatment last between three and four months, then they gradually start to fade, but if you have repeated treatment, the results might last longer.

Botox benefits include:
Softer, smoother looking skin
Relaxes frown and stress lines
Reduces lines around the lips
Opens up the eyes
Will give you a refreshed appearance
Eliminates crow’s feet around the eyes
Safe, quick, injectable treatment
Proven results
No recovery time
Botox treatment is usually painless, but some clients might experience minimal discomfort. At Selston Cosmetic Clinic we can minimise any potential discomfort by applying a topical anaesthetic before your treatment, and we try to keep the botox injection gentle and pain-free. Our trained team will put you at ease and give you support throughout the experience.
A very fine needle injects a tiny amount of botox into the facial muscles where you want to erase wrinkles and fine lines. The injections are quick and you might experience a small pin prick feeling and it might be necessary to have multiple injections, depending on the depth of the facial lines. You can drive yourself to and from your clinic appointment and immediately following botox treatment you can return to your regular activities.
You will usually see the effects of your botox treatment within a few days, and you’ll see more improvement after two weeks when your muscles will be inactive. Your skin will soften and the fine lines and wrinkles will become less visible, giving your face a firmer, more youthful appearance. We use subtly administered botox treatment to control how we look when we age, but this treatment isn't about making you look younger, but more about making you look fresher and rejuvenated.

Transform Your Nose Shape with Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

The nose is in a prominent central position and is one of the most defining characteristics of the face, and this might be why non-surgical nose jobs are so popular with both women and men. The shape of the nose is usually determined by genetics or changed by facial trauma, but both of these issues can easily be corrected with fast, easy dermal filler treatments.

Those considering a nose treatment using dermal fillers should have a realistic idea about what to expect. Non-surgical rhinoplasty can't deliver the big results that you can get from a surgical rhinoplasty, but it's an ideal procedure to use on mild to moderate nose defects. Whether you need just a small lift of the nose bridge, a more pointed tip, or maybe you want to correct a hump that ruins your profile, we can give you just the right amount of filler to rectify it. The treatment is ideal for those who are in good health and want to correct or enhance imperfections on their nose.

No-ones nose is perfect, and your nose will always be unique to you. A nose job is to enhance your natural features, not to make you look completely different. The sign of a good nose job is when you still look like yourself, just enhanced. The shape of the nose changes when injected with small amounts of dermal filler. For a bump on the bridge of the nose, injecting a small amount of filler above and below the hump will give the bridge a straighter, smoother profile, leaving the nose looking natural.

Non surgical nose jobs are ideal for:
  • Smoothing out small bumps
  • An undefined tip
  • A slight crookedness of the nose
  • Noses that needs definition following a surgical rhinoplasty
  • Straightening a bump on bridge of the nose
  • A nose that needs more height
  • Nose asymmetry
  • A hooked shape or drooping tip
Not ideal for:
  • Someone needing nose surgery to make big changes
  • Someone who wants to make a large nose smaller
  • For those who need improved nasal breathing

Dermal fillers can make subtle changes to the nose with very little downtime, minimal swelling and instant results. It involves a few small injections into the nasal area, taking about 20 to 30 minutes. It's a safe and effective treatment with results lasting up to 12 months. Non-surgical nose jobs are an exciting alternative available to those interested in improving the shape of their nose without having to use a scalpel.

Streamline & Contour your Body with Vaser Lipo - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

Lots of us get fed up when we accumulate stubborn fat around the flanks, hips, back, thighs, chest or abdomen. It worries lots of men, young men as well as the more mature, that they carry extra weight on their chest area, also known as gynecomastia or man boobs and many people, particularly men can tend to store fat around their middle, which presents a challenge when they want to show off their physique.

Over time our bodies will change shape through the natural ageing process, but if you stay active, watch what you eat and follow a healthy lifestyle, you can minimise how much unwanted fat you accumulate on the body. However, some areas of the body are naturally predisposed to store fat, and this can mean that some fatty areas are nearly impossible to remove through diet and exercise alone. At Selston Cosmetic Clinic, vaser lipo is one of our most popular cosmetic treatments.

Areas Popular with Women
  • Abdomen
  • Hips
  • Arms
  • Inner thighs / Outer thighs
Areas Popular with Men
  • Abdomen
  • Man boobs
  • Flanks / Love handles

Vaser Treatment
Tumescent fluid gets injected to numb and expand the chosen area, making it easier to remove the fat cells quickly. Vaser lipo treatment turns the targeted fat in your body into liquid. It transmits ultrasound energy to the areas you want treating, using thin, grooved probes inserted into tiny incisions. The ultrasound energy breaks up the fatty deposits by causing the cells to vibrate, making them dissolve. Tiny cannulas then drain the liquid from the body, and any leftover fat will naturally exit through the body.

Although vaser lipo practitioners can treat multiple areas of the body at one time, this doesn't mean that we should use this procedure as a weight loss solution. The goal is to shape and contour the body, creating a slimmer silhouette. A significant amount of weight loss might not even be noticed, but what will quickly be obvious is your slimmer, toned new shape.

The advantages of vaser Lipo are:
  • Minimal bleeding, bruising or discomfort
  • It tightens the skin
  • Removes significant amounts of fat
  • Sculpts the body creating high-definition
  • It's performed under local anaesthetic
  • Minimal recovery time
  • Price competitive compared to traditional liposuction
Clients will see some results immediately, while others see more improvement after the swelling has gone. You will see continued improvement over the days and weeks after the treatment, with the final result usually being seen at 3 - 6 months.

Fill in Hollow Tear Troughs With Dermal Filler - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

Over time, our skin can start to look tired and lose its youthful glow. The reason the skin loses its firmness and starts to sag is mainly down to ageing, although too much sun, smoking, weight loss and genetics can also cause sagging and wrinkling.

No amount of eye creams and serums will help with eye hollows or dark circles, and usually corrective make-up is the only thing that will help to disguise them. Dermal fillers are very effective for filling in folds on the face or hollows and dark circles under the eyes, and a simple injection of filler can easily be used to fill in the tear troughs, giving an instant plumping effect of the hollows.

  • There are many reasons why we get sunken eyes:
  • Ageing
  • Lack of sleep
  • Tension and stress
  • Genetics
  • Bad food habits and indigestion
  • Not enough hydration
  • Too much caffeine intake
  • Smoking

As we age, the body loses fat and bone density, especially in the face. The supporting structures that hold everything together start to decline, and the skin will lose collagen and become thinner and more translucent. Losing excess weight can make us look fitter and healthier, but it can also age us. A dramatic loss of fat in the face can hollow out the cheeks and eyes, and cause the blood vessels around the eyes to become more visible and transparent.

By the time we reach our mid twenties, our body stops producing collagen and elastin, which are the two proteins that work together to keep our tissue firm and the skin elastic. Once the existing collagen in the body starts to break down, the body will start to show typical signs of ageing, such as sunken cheeks, tear troughs, deep lines and wrinkles.

The dermal filler we use at Selston Cosmetic Clinic is Teosyal Redensity II, which fills out the hollows and lines under the eyes, whilst helping to mask the dark circles with its light reflecting technology. This is a hylauronic acid based filler, which is a substance that naturally occurs in the body, and is ideal for treating tear troughs.

Allergic reactions to dermal fillers are nearly unheard of, and any infections or side effects are extremely rare, as long as a trained practitioner with specialist training injects the filler. Sometimes there might be temporary side effects such as redness, slight bruising or swelling and this will happen immediately after the injection treatment, but these will disappear after a couple of days.

Radio Surgery Mole Removal Treatment at Selston - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

Moles found on the face and body are very common and most people aren't that bothered about them, in fact most people don’t even know what they are. Moles are small dark patches on the skin that are formed by cells which produce the colour or pigment in the skin. Most people are born with them and regard them as birthmarks.

Moles are:
  • Usually a brownish colour, although some of them might be darker or skin-coloured
  • They can look either flat or raised and be either smooth or rough
  • Some can have a few hairs growing out of them
  • Usually moles are a circular or oval shape with a smooth edge

Moles don't interfere with our daily lives, unless they are placed awkwardly on our face and get in the way of shaving, or body moles which can prove uncomfortable when they catch on our clothing. One of the most important reasons that people enquire about mole removal is because of the small chance of the mole developing into melanoma, which is a dangerous and aggressive form of skin cancer. You should look out for any change in the size or colour of your moles and go to see your doctor straight away if you have one you're worried about, as the earlier you catch it, the quicker you can have it treated.

One of the main ways of preventing cancerous moles from developing is by protecting yourself from the sun. Covering up your skin and wearing sun screen protection is one of the main ways you can help yourself to keep safe.

At Selston Cosmetic Clinic we offer routine mole screening if required using Mole Mate, which is a diagnostic computer system that visualises the pigment and vasculature of the mole, and gives a good indication of what to worry about, or what not to worry about. This screening service, if required, is free and is part of your consultation. At Selston, we only remove moles for cosmetic reasons and if we see any lesion which looks slightly suspicious we would recommend you go back to your GP and they will refer you to hospital.

Radio surgery is Selston Cosmetic Clinic's preferred method of mole removal. We use state of the art technology that produces radio waves which instantly vaporises the moles, resulting in much less scarring. It's a walk in, walk out procedure that's non-invasive and non-surgical.

Vaser Lipo to Give Male Abs a Six-Pack - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

At Selston Cosmetic Clinic, we specialise in one fat removal treatment that stands out from the rest – and that's vaser lipo. Vaser is a minimally invasive treatment that's an excellent alternative to conventional liposuction. Traditional liposuction has been around for many years, and it's still a really popular procedure for men and women, especially those who carry considerably more fat than someone who is considering vaser.

The vaser lipo method is well-established, and it offers lots of benefits over the traditional liposuction techniques;
  • There's less pain during and after treatment
  • The recovery times are much faster
  • The cost of the procedure is less expensive
  • Local anaesthetic
  • Less bruising and swelling
  • Instantly noticeable results
Vaser lipo is an ideal way to sculpt and define your body, targeting those problem areas and removing stubborn fat that you have found hard to lose, no matter how hard you diet and exercise. If you are reasonably fit and healthy then vaser can give you the body you've always wanted, taking away those hard to lose pockets of fat, and enhancing the results of your diet and exercise regime. Vaser lipo is a permanent fix for contouring the body and it's ideal for those who will keep up a healthy lifestyle after their treatment.

So, for the men who have become fed up with their dad body, who want to take their shirt off in company without feeling embarrassed, and need a little help getting the perfect six-pack, then vaser lipo can move your fat and shape it, to give extra definition, accentuating your abdominal rippling, and creating a sculpted ab appearance. Sculpting the abs will emphasise the abdominal muscles, giving the appearance that you've worked extremely hard for a six-pack.

Before and after vaser lipo treatment on male abs

Benefits of vaser lipo:
  • It can produce eye-catching results with a single procedure
  • Large amounts of stored fat can easily be removed
  • Vaser treatment can produce smooth skin, even in delicate areas like the arms and neck
  • It can accentuate and give definition to the muscles
Vaser lipo treatment allows the practitioner to remove greater volumes of fat in a shorter procedure time and you'll only need one treatment in the chosen area. Vaser is given under a local anaesthetic, meaning you are up and about straight after the procedure and there's minimum downtime. The treatment time will vary according to the size of the area being treated, however, it normally takes around 2 hours. You see the results immediately after the procedure and see the final results about 3 to 6 months after the vaser treatment.

Improve Your Skin With Microdermabrasion - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

Over the years, the skin becomes vulnerable to a lot of damage. We'll get; injuries, sun exposure and acne, not to mention general ageing and loss of collagen and elastin, making the skin to lose its firmness and look tired and worn. All of this causes skin damage that builds up, and over time, will make your skin texture uneven and scarred, and can even make it look discoloured, but you can improve your skin by  exfoliating.
We exfoliate our face for three reasons:
  • To cleanse the skin by removing build-up from the pores, which helps to get rid of blackheads and whiteheads
  • To smooth the skin’s texture, giving your skin a soft and flawless look
  • To stimulate blood flow to the face, giving a youthful glow.
Microdermabrasion treatment
Exfoliation involves removing the old, dead skin cells on the skin's outer surface, getting rid of clogged pores, dull skin and signs of ageing. We use exfoliation during all of our deep cleansing facials, and during microdermabrasion or chemical peels. Exfoliating your skin can make it look softer, with a more even surface, helping skin treatments to work better and allowing a smoother base to apply your make-up on.

We can exfoliate our skin in different ways;
There’s the daily exfoliation using a traditional scrub. A facial wash containing tiny, sand-like particles will physically smooth away any rough areas, removing dead skin cells and uncovering new ones, leaving your skin feeling soft and looking flawless. You can also make your own face and body scrub by mixing baking soda with your facial cleanser to make it an exfoliating cleanser.
A liquid exfoliator uses acids to take away dead skin cells and it works on a deeper level by dissolving the glue-like substance that bonds the dead skin cells. Acid based products have an anti-bacterial effect that cleans deep within the pores, and some of them can boost hydration, cell turnover and collagen production. The skin sheds cells daily, however, by applying products and make-up every day we can halt this process, but using acids every day can copy this natural process.
Exfoliation treatment that you get at a cosmetic clinic is microdermabrasion. Exfoliation done at home is superficial, microdermabrasion is more in-depth and goes deeper than your typical facial scrub. A precision blast of superfine crystals will smooth away fine lines, and reduce pigment irregularities on the surface of the skin. This stimulates an increase in cell turnover, and you'll notice more brightness to your complexion. Microdermabrasion is one of the most popular cosmetic medical procedures performed today and because it uses non-allergenic crystals, it's an ideal treatment for skin that's sensitive to chemicals.
Before and after microdermabrasion treatment
Microdermabrasion is a safe non-surgical treatment which doesn't present any risks when it's performed by a qualified practitioner. This treatment is sometimes called a lunchtime peel and is one which will allow you to return to your normal activities on the same day. Microdermabrasion is a procedure that provides many benefits. It reduces or eliminates fine facial lines, wrinkles, improves acne scars and gives the skin a fresh, healthy-looking glow.
