Regain Your Youthful Face with a Vampire Facelift - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

As we get older, our skin loses the glow of youth as the blood supply to our face diminishes, making our skin lose its colour and makes it appear dull. The texture of the skin becomes less smooth, the delicate skin beneath the eyes becomes thinner and we get fine lines and wrinkles. Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy, (PRP) also called a vampire facelift is a treatment which uses the natural ingredients of your blood, to rejuvenate tired ageing skin.

Non-surgical vampire facelift treatment is ideal for enhancing;
  • Fine lines and wrinkles around the eye area
  • Minimising lines around the mouth
  • Smoothing wrinkles across the nose
  • Ageing on the hands
  • Softening wrinkles and frown lines on the forehead
  • Addressing minor smile lines
  • Dull skin due to less blood flow.
  • Smooth and uneven texture
  • Tighten sagging or loose skin
  • Acne scarring

During the treatment a small amount of blood gets extracted, and treated in a centrifuge to harvest the platelet rich plasma. Then it's re-injected into the required area to stimulate fresh collagen production and elastin. This will plump up the skin, fill out fine lines and wrinkles, and give a more radiant appearance encouraging the body to repair the ageing skin from the inside out.

The injected platelet rich plasma stimulates new collagen formation, which will rejuvenate your skin, making it look fresher and more vibrant. We use very fine needles to inject small amounts of PRP into your skin, and these injections are quite painless, as a topical anaesthetic gets applied beforehand, which minimises any discomfort. The results can last for up to 18 months and it's recommended you have a touch up treatment around this time. This is a safe treatment as you are using your own blood, so it's completely non-toxic and hypoallergenic.

A vampire facelift is great skin rejuvenating procedure option. As the blood is the patient’s own, there aren't any foreign materials injected which lowers any risk of allergies and infections. This procedure has a fast healing time and you'll only experience minimal bruising and slight swelling.

This treatment can promote skin rejuvenation on the facial area, especially around the eyes, lessening the wrinkles. It's ideal for the hands, which often show signs of ageing sooner than other areas of the body, and on the neck and chest. The procedure simply helps rejuvenate the skin, restoring volume and collagen formation.

Achieve Six-Pack Abs With Vaser Hi-Def - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

Summer is getting nearer, but are you ready to take off your top with confidence at the pool or beach? Will those trendy slim-fitted t-shirts hanging in your wardrobe see the light of day? What you need is a flat, toned, six-pack tummy, and fast!

Having worries and insecurities about your body can make you feel disheartened, and at worst can even give you a negative body image. Pursuing a healthy, active lifestyle is essential to get the body shape you want, and to get the results you're aiming for, but sometimes, it can feel like you’re not getting anywhere, making it hard to stay motivated.

Vaser lipo can give you the toned, defined tummy that you're aiming for, making you feel much happier showing it off, happier going to the gym and feel more confident to wear the clothes you want to wear. Once you've got your body into the shape you want it, the more likely you are to work hard keeping it that way.

Vaser lipo is a cosmetic procedure for both men and women to enable them to shape and contour areas of their body. We use hi-definition vaser lipo when we want a more athletic and sculpted look. It's the most advanced form of liposuction which precisely removes fat; from on top and between the muscles, bringing out the sculpted and defined body underneath. It tightens the overlying skin, creating a sleek, smooth body with ultimate definition.

An ideal candidate suitable for vaser hi-def:
  • Someone who strives to achieve an athletic look, but has fat that's resistant to diet and exercise
  • People who want an improved definition of muscles and better contouring of the body
  • It's very well suited for athletic body types, those who are reasonably fit and have moderate amounts of fat
  • Those with good abdominal muscle mass and tone will benefit from this treatment
  • People who are generally in good health
  • Those with good skin elasticity and a small amount of visceral fat
  • Both men and women can benefit from vaser hi-def

All too often, diet and exercise are just not enough to get abs with the six-pack look, and this is where vaser hi-def can help. Vaser hi-def will enhance the abdominal muscles that are hard to get through diet and exercise alone. It's a minimally invasive treatment, and it's the best way to get rid of that last bit of unwanted fat, and sculpt and define the body.

Laser Hair Removal Can Get You Hair-Free For Summer - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

Many people, women, and men feel concerned about the excessive amount of unwanted hair they find growing on different parts of their body, however, there are a number of options available for you to consider when it comes to removing the hair. You might consider shaving, using depilatory creams, waxing, plucking or electrolysis, but one of the most popular cosmetic procedures used today is laser hair removal, which is a treatment that has long-lasting results.

Some women find that hair on the face is particularly embarrassing and can experience a loss of confidence as a result of unsightly facial hair. Unwanted hair can grow just about anywhere on the  body, and while hairy legs, backs and chests can easily be covered up, hair on the upper lip, chin and eyebrows are always visible. Most women use at least one method of removing unwanted hair, but in general, younger women are more likely to keep on top of their hair removal regime.

Laser hair removal treatment removes hair from:
  • The upper lip,
  • The chin; the beard and jaw line
  • Nose, neck and ears
  • Underarms and arms
  • Legs and bikini line
  • Chest and abdomen
  • Back and shoulders
Shaving, waxing, threading and creams can turn into a very time-consuming lifetime chore and these treatments often cause annoying skin irritations, ranging from mild to severe and they can last for days or weeks. They can cause cuts, nicks, redness, scaliness, bumps on the skin and ingrown hairs.

You can have laser hair removal anywhere on the body, and the laser machine can cover large areas quickly and safely. At Selston Cosmetic Clinic, our advanced laser system uses a focused beam of light and heat which penetrates the hair follicle at its root, to stop hair growth, but which will preserve the surrounding skin. The laser has a cooled sapphire window on the laserscope to further protect and cool the surface of the skin, while still letting the laser light heat the hair follicle beneath the skin.

Laser hair reduction results;
  • Allows you to enjoy longer-term smooth, hair-free skin
  • Is suitable for most areas of the body and skin types
  • Will stop painful rashes, infections and in-grown hairs
  • It's a safe, effective and convenient treatment
  • You'll get long-lasting results
It's considered that laser hair removal is one of the most successful methods of hair removal invented, as it has a lasting and permanent effect, compared to other traditional hair removal methods, where hair tends to re-grow within 3 to 7 days after the treatment or application.

Before & After - Non-Surgical Nose Jobs at Selston Cosmetic Clinic - Nottingham, Derby Mansfield & Chesterfield

There are many people who don't mind having an imperfect nose, and they're either happy in their own skin or they think it gives them character and individuality. Whether they got the uneven or bumpy nose through injury, or were simply born with it, they are quite happy. However, if an irregular nose doesn't make you happy, there are ways to correct and enhance it non-surgically, avoiding going under the surgeon's knife!

Before and after a non-surgical nose job at Selston Cosmetic Clinic
As our noses are one of the focal points of our face, it makes any bumps, dents and kinks highly visible. Whether you've had broken bones, sports injuries or were just born with a nose that's now causing you concern, the non-invasive nose job, or liquid nose job as it's sometimes called, can give you the nose you've always wanted.

This procedure can give you a more defined, contoured and symmetrical nose, and may help in minimising bumps or dents that spoil the natural outline of the nose. Nose enhancement procedures are a walk in, walk out treatment which are usually completed within the hour.

See the difference after filler treatment at Selston Cosmetic Clinic
  • Filler treatment for the nose takes about an hour
  • Reshaping and enhancing the nose is possible in multiple different ways
  • Filler can define the dorsal lines
  • Results are temporary and can easily be altered if desired
  • Relatively painless procedure, using topical numbing cream before the injection
  • Minimal swelling and normal activities resumed the next day
  • Costs less than surgical rhinoplasty
  • Results can last up to a year
By making the nose look straighter, dermal filler treatment can make the nose appear smaller. Filler is often used to increase the height and definition of the nasal bridge, and reshaping and contouring the nose. The nose job procedure uses the filler in the depressed nasal areas, it can lift the angle of the nose tip or smooth any bumps on the bridge. Non-surgical rhinoplasty is a cosmetic treatment only, it can't reduce the size of the nose, or correct problems with the nose, such as breathing difficulties.

A liquid nose job can make a big difference
There will only be minimal discomfort during the non-surgical nose job, as numbing cream gets applied before treatment, and most dermal fillers also contain a local anaesthetic, meaning you should only feel a light sting on your skin during the injection procedure.

Surgical rhinoplasty is reshaping the nose surgically and involves the using scalpels and anaesthetic and weeks of bruising and swelling after the surgery, but the safe alternative is a non-surgical nose job, achieved using dermal fillers and leaving you with minimal swelling and bruising and giving instant results. Dermal filler treatment is a lot less expensive than surgery, however the results, although they are long-lasting, are temporary and will eventually need repeating.

Botox at Selston - Safely Put Your Face in Our Hands - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

Botox is an injectable treatment used to improve the signs of ageing on the face, whether to reduce  the deep lines on the forehead or to relax the facial muscles to give asymmetry to the face. Botox is actually a purified toxin, but although it is a toxin, when used in small amounts, it doesn't cause any damage to the body.

Botox is a prescription only medicine, so doctors, dentists and registered nurses can prescribe and inject botox, however, beauticians can inject botox, but their clients must first be given a face-to-face consultation with a medical professional who can prescribe the drug. With botox being a prescription-only medicine, it's illegal for beauticians to use any botox that hasn't been prescribed for you.

When considering getting botox, the first thing you should do, is see a medical professional. You are having an injectable treatment, so it's imperative you should choose a  trained, qualified practitioner to inject the botox into your face and they'll need steady hands, the eye of an artist, and the ability and passion to get it just right.

Good practitioners are those who have been doing facial aesthetics for a several years, who go on training courses and have a good knowledge of facial anatomy, but there are some people who try to treat people with little or no training. Theoretically, on one day someone can go on a beginner’s botox course, and the next day go on an advanced course, during this time they may have only ever injected one client, but they can call themselves an advanced practitioner.

A face to face consultation is essential, as the practitioner will listen to what you would like to improve, and assess whether botox treatment is suitable for you, while taking note of your aesthetic concerns, preferences and your desired results. The practitioner will also tell you the risks, which can include allergic reactions, bruising and minimal swelling.

  • A good botox treatment will have precisely placed injections in strategic places; into your frown lines, forehead creases, crows feet around the eyes and neck bands, leaving you with smoother, younger skin that looks more relaxed and healthy.
  • Botox administered by unprofessional, untrained people, is a different story. Too much injected botox can leave you with an unnatural frozen look, or when it's injected somewhere on the face it shouldn't have been, it can cause asymmetry and drooping eyes.
Even after many warnings on television and in newspaper articles, an increasing number of women, and men, are still taking the risk of having botox injections done by people with no medical qualifications or knowledge of facial anatomy, who basically are just injecting it into your face and hoping for the best.

In the hands of a fully trained practitioner, the safe, effective placement of botox can create a natural look which will make your face look and feel more refreshed and relaxed.

Dermal Fillers to Restore Volume & Enhance the Mouth Area - Notttingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

Thinning lips and the appearance of fine lines around the mouth are unfortunately an inevitable result of ageing, but volume and structure can easily be recreated, using dermal fillers to restore your lips and give them a natural, youthful look. Injectable filler treatment can reverse the signs of ageing in the mouth area and will define, shape, support, soften and hydrate, they'll correct asymmetry and restore volume or just enhance the lips.

Sometimes when you look at yourself in the mirror you might notice changes happening to your lips:
  • Vertical lines - sometimes called smokers’ lines or lipstick lines
  • Volume loss - lack of fullness in the lips
  • Flat lips - less pronounced shape, and the cupid’s bow lacks definition
  • Lost definition - the border known as the vermillion border has less definition to the outside of the lips
  • Flatter philtrum ridge - lack of shape to the ridge between the upper lips and the nose
Some of us were born with naturally thin lips and some lips can become thinner as we grow older. As we age, our collagen production slows down, causing the lips to lose volume, and thin lips can make you look less vibrant and older than you are, but dermal fillers will give you the luscious lips you are after. So whether you’ve always had small thin lips or they have become that way with age, dermal fillers can restore them.

Lots of us are unhappy with the lack of volume in our lips; wanting more volume, a better shape, to  define the border and to have more definition on the cupid’s bow. Dermal fillers are a perfect cosmetic treatment to make them full again. A good cosmetic doctor will give you natural-looking results; plump, shapely and youthful, without them looking like they've had any treatment. The same dermal fillers injected to add volume, are also used to shape the lips, and these treatments are often done in the same procedure.

Lip Lines
These are sometimes called the lipstick lines, and they're the fine vertical wrinkles that develop just above the lips. These lines show up when we purse our mouth, while smoking or drinking through straws, but as we get older, they begin to become a more permanent fixture. Light botox treatment is often used to treat these pucker lines

Smile Lines
These are also known as nasolabial folds, laugh lines or parentheses, and they're the wrinkles that run from the side of the nose to the corner of the mouth. Dermal fillers are a great option for smoothing these lines away

Marionette Lines
These lines run from the corners of the mouth to the chin and are similar to smile lines. Dermal filler corrects these lines.

Dermal fillers will give your lips volume and definition, and the injections are completely controlled, letting you choose if you want a subtle, in-between or more dramatic look. There are lots we can do to prevent and to improve the signs of ageing, leaving you happy to enjoy younger looking, plumper lips for longer.

Legs - Vaser Lipo on the Knees & the Outer & Inner Thighs - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

When we diet we lose weight from around the body, but sometimes we find it difficult to lose fat in specific places, and the legs are one of these places. After the tummy area, the legs are a popular target for those choosing a vaser lipo treatment. Women usually find that fat settles on their thighs before anywhere else, leaving them with unsightly lumps and imperfections, making them self-conscious about their appearance.

It's important to keep the body’s natural proportions in mind when contouring any parts of the body, as this will help to create a silhouette to suit that persons body and shape. When treating the legs, the cosmetic doctor must consider the front and back, as well as the inner and outer thigh, to make sure there's a balanced result.

Vaser treatment on the knees

Knees
Men and women who are already slim and toned can get excess fat on their legs, and this can accumulate on the knees. It's unwise to have vaser treatment on the knees alone if you have unwanted fat on the thighs, as the result will end up looking disproportionate. Vaser lipo treatment on the knees acts more as a contouring procedure.

Vaser lipo on inner thighs

Inner & Outer Thighs
We all want attractive looking legs, but we aren't all blessed with slender proportionate thighs. The inner and outer thighs can have unevenly distributed fat, which can cause both embarrassment and discomfort, when the constant rubbing of the inner thighs leads to sore irritated skin. The thighs are often key to a shapely figure, especially for women but sometimes the outer and inner thighs can look out of proportion to the rest of their body. This can make it difficult finding clothes that fit properly and leave them feeling self-conscious. The ideal solution for this problem is vaser lipo. Vaser treatment on the outer thighs, sometimes known as the saddlebags, counts as one treatment, and treatment on the inner thighs is another, although to get the best results, you might need to get both areas treated.

Vaser lipo on outer thighs
Vaser lipo procedure is an effective way of removing unwanted fat in many areas, and for contouring delicate areas.
  • It's a gentle treatment which removes more fat than traditional liposuction
  • An efficient, effective way to remove unwanted fat
  • Ideal for all areas of the body, especially the tummy, thighs, love handles, back fat, man boobs and arms.
  • Performed using local anaesthetic
  • Fast recovery time and minimal downtime.
  • There will be minimal discomfort for about two to five days after your procedure
  • You'll need to wear a compression garment after treatment for three to six weeks
  • After your treatment you will need lymphatic drainage massages
  • Minimal scarring
Vaser lipo on the legs is a highly effective treatment and it can quickly help you get slimmer, more shapely toned legs. Vaser lipo is a minimally invasive treatment using ultrasound energy which is powerful enough to remove fat from large areas of the body and gentle enough to take fat from small, delicate places.

Prepare Yourself for Vaser Lipo Treatment - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

It goes without saying that before undergoing any cosmetic procedures, such as vaser lipo, to remove unwanted fat, you should ideally try to lose as much excess fat as you can. Healthy eating and exercising in the months before, will make sure that you get the best results possible from your treatment. At Selston Cosmetic Clinic, before you actually have vaser lipo treatment, you'll have a free consultation with Dr Bassi, when you’ll be able to talk in detail about why you want vaser, the technique he'll use, the length of recovery time and the results you want to achieve.

Dr Bassi has a portfolio of before and after photo's of previous vaser clients, so you can see for yourself the results he has achieved, and the difference it’s made for their bodies. A face-to-face consultation with the doctor who's doing your procedure will allow him to examine you, see which areas of your body that you're unhappy with, realistically discuss what results that you can expect, and work with you to get the right outcome for you and your body.

After being involved in the aesthetic industry for more than 10 years, Dr Bassi holds multiple qualifications and continues to develop his vaser lipo techniques to provide the most cutting-edge treatments.

Those considering having vaser lipo usually have a lot of questions, including:
  • How good will my results be?
  • What are the benefits and risks?
  • How well-trained is my doctor?
  • Can I see before and after photo's of my doctor's previous results?
  • Is the vaser lipo procedure painful?
  • How long does swelling and bruising last?
  • What can I expect before, during, and after a vaser lipo procedure?
  • How much does it cost?

At your consultation, Dr Bassi will give you a list of things that you're expected to do, or avoid. But there are also other things you should consider, to properly prepare yourself for vaser lipo treatment.

Prepare for your recovery time
After your treatment you'll need to arrange time off work (for a large procedure) and put off any physically demanding responsibilities until you have recovered.  During the early days of your recovery, you might need to have someone on hand to give you some help.

Medication
It's in your best interests to let the cosmetic doctor know of all tablets and supplements you're taking, because medications can interfere with your body’s blood clotting ability. So at least two weeks before your treatment you need to stop taking all forms of cold and sinus medication, vitamin E tablets, nutritional supplements, non-steroidal inflammatory medication, etc.

Smoking
It would be better to stop smoking cigarettes altogether, but if you are unable to do so, then it's advisable to quit smoking at least two months before the procedure. Smoking slows down blood flow to the skin, increasing the risk of circulation problems after treatment and this might affect your results. Smoking can cause poor wound healing, which can increase your recovery time. If you are considering vaser lipo then it would be better if you gave up smoking altogether.

Post-procedure supplies
Before your vaser procedure make sure you stock up on the necessary supplies, including pain relief medication, compression garments and bandages. If you live alone you'll need a good supply of food, toiletries etc. You don’t want to run out of supplies if there's nobody around to help replenish them.

A Flat Toned Tummy or Six Pack with Vaser Lipo & Vaser Hi-Def - Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield & Chesterfield

With the constant bombardment of slim, toned men and women in the media, it’s easy to see why some people might feel insecure about their own body. Constantly seeing photo's of so-called perfect physiques, can make us believe that we just can’t measure up.

Living in Britain with its unpredictable weather, means we don't expose our flesh that often, however, our shape does affect how well our clothes fit us. They can affect the type of clothes we wear; men might feel reluctant wearing slim-fitting shirts if their beer belly is visible, while women wear baggy tops and might even succumb to elasticated waistbands to avoid drawing attention to their wobbly tummy.

Insecure about your tummy?
Thank goodness, there’s a solution. Getting vaser lipo on your abs and stomach area is an ideal way to slim down and get definition. Men and women will now be able to bare more of their body wearing slim-fitting clothing and form-fitting summer dresses, while feeling comfortable with their shape. If you haven't got the amazing results you were after through exercise and healthy eating, then vaser lipo can help by removing resistant pockets of fat that you just can't shift and producing smooth, even results in the treated areas. Vaser is a minimally invasive treatment that leaves you with dramatic results, with just one treatment.

Vaser lipo
Vaser lipo uses ultrasound energy to melt the unwanted fat before it's removed through a thin tube called a cannula. Liquidising the fat makes it easier to remove and this technique is especially useful in areas with dense fat or larger volumes of fat. Unlike traditional liposuction, there's no nasty scarring or drooping skin after the treatment, and vaser is minimally invasive with excellent recovery times. We use local anaesthetic with your procedure, enabling you to leave the clinic just a few hours after the treatment. The vaser procedure is tissue-selective, targeting fat while protecting other tissues from any damage, and although there will inevitably be some bruising and swelling, it will be kept to a minimum.

Vaser Hi-Def
Vaser lipo can give you a flat, toned tummy but if you want to create a sculptured athletic look, then you need Vaser Hi-Def, which is an advanced body sculpting technique. As well as taking unwanted fat, this treatment will remove the fat around the muscle groups, making the muscles look more defined. Vaser hi-def allows the practitioner to sculpt deep and superficial fat, making the underlying muscles appear more distinct. For anyone in who's in relatively good shape and wants a more defined body, then vaser hi-def is an ideal treatment.
